Fabrinet Meets New Quality Standards and Certifications
Fabrinet is pleased to announce that it has added OHSAS 18001:2007 certification to its comprehensive list of industry and company international standards compliance. OHSAS 18001:2007 is the internationally recognized assessment specification for occupational health and safety. It calls for a pro-active and structured framework to consistently identify and control health and safety risks.
“We are proud of this achievement and of the ongoing efforts of our outstanding quality team,” said Dr. Harpal Gill, Fabrinet COO. “The safety of our employees and community is of paramount importance to Fabrinet. This certification underscores our personal commitment as well as our support of industry-recognized standards.”
Fabrinet recently received certification as a Sony Green Partner - an extraordinarily difficult certification mandated and audited by Sony Corporation. The certification recognizes that Fabrinet has successfully established an environmental system meeting the standards of Sony, and that Fabrinet will work continuously to maintain and upgrade these systems.
Beyond the Sony Green Partner certification, Fabrinet meets a number of extremely demanding industry standards including Europe’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) which, together with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for all types of electrical goods. Fabrinet also meets the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) requirements.
Fabrinet’s quality team continuously monitors emerging standards, actively participating in leading quality organizations including the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the Association for Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and the Electrostatic Discharge Association (ESDA). |
