Thai Demons - Erawan

Erawan - This demon, represented as a three-headed elephant, is particularly popular. Erawan is the Thai name for Airavata, which according to Hindu culture is the white elephant who carries Lord Indra. The noblest and most powerful of Indra's three magical elephants, Erawan is said to have been a gift from the God Shiva. The Erawan Museum in Thailand, containing antiquities and a priceless collection of ancient religious objects, is designed in the shape of a three-headed elephant.
